RUDY VALLEE - CONTRACT SIGNED 06/13/1951 - HFSID 158376 RUDY VALLE Valle signed this four-year letter-style contract that made MAC Artists his agent in 1951. Contract signed "Rudy Valle" and by a representative of MCA Artists, Ltd., both in blue ink. 6 pages, 8½x11, single-sided sheets, carbon copy and photocopied. June 13, 1951. Letter-style contract addressed to Mr. Rudy Vallee [sic], Hollywood, California. This contract made MCA Artists Valle's agent in return for a 10 percent commission. From the mid-1920s to the mid-1950s, Valle (1901-1986, born Hubert Prior Valle in Island Pond, Vermont) enjoyed a successful career on radio, in movies, in Broadway musicals and with a solo nightclub act. His films include The Palm Beach Story (1942), I Remember Mama (1948), The Helen Morgan Story (1957), The Night They Raided Minsky's (1968), Won Ton Ton, the Dog Who Saved Hollywood (1976) and How to Succeed in Business Without Really Trying (1967), in which he reprised his role from the successful 1961 Broadway musical. The first singer to be called a "crooner", Valle was known for carrying a small megaphone and for his catch phrase "Heigh-Ho, Everyone", which he first used when appearing at New York's Heigh-Ho Club. Lightly toned. Two binder holes at top edge. Staple holes at top left corner. Otherwise in fine condition.
