Running/Serviced 1914 Hamilton 18s 17 Jewel 936 RR Grade with 20 yr GF Case.

Description: Hamilton 18s 17 Jewel Pocket watch. The movement serial number is 1400435 - model 1, grade 936, manufactured in 1914. The movement is still running and keeping good time 110 years after manufacture! The watch case is a nice 20 Year Gold Filled case made by the Philadelphia Watch Case Company. This is a swingout style case with screw-on front bezel. The case has a small crescent of brass showing on the bottom of the front bezel, and a ding on the rear of the case. The case has fine scratches overall consistent with moderate wear and use. The crystal is a new glass crystal from White's Crystals. The case has a Gold Filled bow worn to the brass, and a very worn gold filled crown. The watch still winds just fine. The single sunk porcelain-enamel dial has large black numerals and red 5 minute markers. This dial has a hairline crack at 5:00 and a repaired area on the edge at 11:00 (covered by the bezel) Please look carefully at the pictures. The medium spade-style steel hands are purple/blue, the second hand is also blue. The mechanical movement is 17 jewels, the balance wheel has good motion, and the movement has been cleaned and is in running order. This movement received a new alloy mainspring as part of the service. This is a "fully loaded" 936 Rail Road Grade movement with steel escape wheel, double roller and motor barrel engraved so on the mainspring barrel. The 936 was a favorite RR quality watch with over 20,000 produced. This watch is a lever set movement. To set the time, unscrew the front bezel, use your fingernail to gently pull out the setting lever (at 2:00) and then use the crown to set the time. Push the setting lever back in, replace the front bezel, and then use the crown to wind the watch. Check the picture showing the lever pulled out. The watch has been recently serviced, is running and keeps time to within a few minutes each day. These old pocket watches make fun gifts for friends and family. USA Sales Only Please.
