GOOD GLOSS AND SOLID VG++ Another compelling example of Rush's talents creating a consistent prog rock output a la Yes and Genesis blended with 70s heavy metal riffs and esoteric lyrics penned by drummer Neil Peart, though "A Farewell to Kings" falls a bit short of their former LP "2112", not being more interesting than their next "Hemispheres" whatsoever. "Closer to the Heart" is the best-know song from this record, though the highlights may be "Cygnus X-1" and the short and melancholic "Madrigal", which brings the aforementioned Genesis to mind, which is quite brave for the punk year of 1977.
