Description: Splendid antique cigar case of Kokoshnik Mark .875 Russian made silver dating from 1908-1926. Mark indicates Moscow as city of origin. The Cyrillic makers mark translate to “V” and “Yu” in Latin - see photos. Case measures: 5.5”x 3” and 1” thick. The exterior front is engraved with WH or HW. The exterior is polished silver and the interior is gilded gold on silver. The inscription inside reads: Weihnachten 1916 (Christmas 1916) The bands for securing the cigars are missing. The closure button is a cabochon emerald or jade stone in a tiger eye shape channel set in silver. Purchased in New York about 1998 or Germany about the same time.
