Description: Sabal minor, commonly known as the dwarf palmetto, is a small species of palm. It is native to the deep southeastern and south-central United States and northeastern Mexico. It is naturally found in a diversity of habitats, including maritime forests, swamps, floodplains, and occasionally on drier sites, such as this eco-type from the High Desert region of central Oregon. Will eventually reach heights of up to 5-7 feet tall and wide, with beautiful large blue/green fronds. These were seed grown from our own Sabal minor trees in central Oregon, which hold good hardiness (zone 6b/7a), and would make an excellent tropical statement in any yard!
