Description: Framed caricature of "Geoff Duke" by Sallon of the "Daily Mirror" The text under the picture reads as follows:- One of only two men awarded the O.B.E. for services to British motorcycling, GEOFF DUKE, from St. Helens, Lancs, was an outstanding trials and scrambles rider but after winning the Senior Clubman's and Senior Manx Grand Prix in 1949 found most of his time devoted to racing, as a member of the Norton team. Won the 1950 Senior T.T. and almost everything it was possible to win the following year. Joined Gilera in 1953 and has six World Championships and five T.T. victories to his credit. This picture is from a set of cartoons commissioned by Shell-Mex and BP Ltd. to mark the 50th anniversary of the Isle of Man TT races in May 1957.
