Description: "Stag Horn" handled CHROME STEEL carving set - although the stag horn is likely bakelite. Chrome steel, hand forged. The knife is etched with a lovely deer hunting scene. Only minor loss of detail as shown in the photos - consistent with age and use.In original fitted wood case. Likely manufactured between 1930 and 1935.Marked "El Toro" Schmidt & ZieglerSolingen, Germany The box shows some wear - it is missing the easily replaced outside felt bottom, and is scratched and worn consistent with age. There is some minor corrosion at the edges of the handles. The original owner's engraved brass nameplate is nice and clean. Case is 16" by 6.5" by 2". Knife is 13.5" long; hone is 13" long; and fork is 11" long. Sets like this don't come up very often - don't miss your chance to get this rare set!
