Description: This is a clean new (though not perfect) example of a relatively rare vintage Schwinn cyclometer by CEV of Italy, Schwinn part number 02 814, for 20" front wheels with bolt-on axles (not quick-release hub skewers). This aluminum-shell, vertical format cyclometer was listed in the Schwinn catalog for only one year, in 1971, before the company switched to a smaller British model with horizontal numbers, and to plastic models in later years. This is one of the few 1971 survivors calibrated for 20" wheels such as Sting-Rays and similar bikes. (It is not for use on Krates, as those have a 16" front wheel.)This is a complete installation, containing: Schwinn Cyclometer Head 02 814 for 20" bolt-on front wheelsBracket 02 812 complete with mounting screw and nutStriker Pin 02 813 complete with screw1974 Installation Instruction sheet (for a different cyclometer head, but other details are the same)This is a vintage new piece in clean condition and good working order. There is a hairline crack in the clear lens that is faintly visible just above the Ones digit of the odometer (see Photo 1), but it's not obvious and normal operation is not affected. Current mileage is starting at 0001.0. I am also including a free scanned reprint of an original instruction sheet to help you get it all installed. (The instruction sheet is for a different model of cyclometer, Schwinn 02 815, but the installation hardware is the same.) NOTES: This is not intended for quick-release front hubs.
