Description: Facsimile reprint (not retyped) of the 1940s British Science Fiction fanzine FANTASY REVIEW. This fanzine ran for 18 issues and was originally published as a digest size 5 1/2" x 8 1/2" fanzine averaging 20 pages to 40 pages an issue with very few ads. Each issue had articles, book reviews and interviews (with the top names in science fiction in the 1940s). This omnibus reprint is done in 3 volumes (150 to 176 pages per volume) and the three volumes together contain the complete run of the fanzine. This reprint is enlarged 135% so that each page is 8 1/2 x 11. These reprints are photocopies, 8 1/2 x 11, side-stapled with heavy glossy covers. FANTASY REVIEW was a highly regarded fanzine of its time and each issue covered the major names in the field at the time (and have never been reprinted anywhere before). The only addition I have made to these reprints is to create a table of contents for each issue as they were originally published without any content guide. This makes it easier to find the famous author interviews and the reviews of such books as SKULL-FACE AND OTHERS and DARK CARNIVAL. FANTASY REVIEW was an early promoter of the works of Ray Bradbury. Many features and book review here are of books which originated in the US. The British magazine NEW WORLDS is covered in this magazine, though, as well as some SF from British publishers. The final two issues were titled SCIENCE-FANTASY REVIEW and an announcement in the final issue stated that it was being absorbed into a new magazine titled SCIENCE FANTASY, but that turned out to be a digest size science fiction magazine which was nothing like FANTASY REVIEW. This listing is for all 3 volumes. I have other listings for the volumes individually. FANTASY REVIEW omnibus reprint #1 (reprints issues 1-8 from February 1947 through April 1948).
