For some fancy cancel stamps (Scott #65 etc.) , you are buying the "cancel" and not necessarily the stamp quality. Of course, some stamps will be more expensive as the Scott Catalog Value is figured into the price. I figure them as a % of SCV and the cancel as a bonus.
