Description: Vintage Continental-sized (approx. 4x6) glossy postcard with a viewof grey-stoned Holyroodhouse, the famed palace at Edinburgh, Scotland. Back caption reads, "HOLYROOD PALACE, more correctly called The Palaceof Holyroodhouse, is the Royal Palace of the Sovereign in Scotland. It was foundedabout 1500 by James V, but was later burned and then rebuilt. Mary Queen of Scotsresided in the palace, which was the scene of many events in her tragic history,including the murder of Rizzio and her marriage to Bothwell. In the backgroundis Arthur's Seat."The number 3540 appears in lower left. Published by J. Arthur Dixon, Ltd., Inverness. Split back, used, postmarked 1959 Edinburgh with a National Bible Society postmarkand mailed to the USA.Inked note reads,"Dearest Folks.
