Description: Quarter-plate daguerreotype of Captain Edwin Hillyer and his wife, Angeline Coe Hillyer. They were married for over 60 years. Edwin was a Captain in the 10th Wisconsin Infantry, Co. K, and was an important freemason before and after the war. This might have been taken when they moved to Waupun in the late-1840s. The dag has its original, unbroken seals and is in half of a case, with hanging ribbon affixed to the top. VG antique condition; underside of the glass could use a cleaning. The couple are Identified on the back as "Edwin & Angeline Coe Hillyer. Waupun, Wis."
