Description: Original antique superbly detailed wood cut map from The Illustrated London News in 1854, illustrating the position of the Allied forces outside Sebastopol and Balaclava during the Crimean War. Historic battles such as the Battle of Balaclava, including the disastrous Charge of the Light Brigade, the Battle of Inkerman and the Siege of Sebastopol all took place at this time. Additional unrelated print on the reverse side of the page. Please check out the detail in the map; would look absolutely superb mounted and framed. Excellent condition for an item that is nearly 170 years old, with general wear commensurate with its age, but no significant creasing or tearing. Dimensions: Approximately 16" x 10.75" (400 mm x 270 mm). Please note; this is a page carefully retrieved from a no longer usable antique newspaper. It is original, but not a complete newspaper. Posting and Packaging: Due to large size of the page, it will be carefully packaged in a sturdy tube and posted by Royal Mail (small parcel). Please feel free to ask any questions and contact me if there are any issues with the item. Every effort will be made to resolve any problems. Thanks for looking.
