This is a near museum quality Seikosha wristwatch. It is one of the earliest examples of a Seiko wristwatch. With an estimated manufacture date of somewhere close to 1931. It even has the patent number on the caseback. It is pre world war 2. Patent #274740 (etched on caseback) points to a joint venture between Seiko and Citizen to case their smaller pocket watches into a larger wristwatch style case for wrist wear in a time period when pocket watches still dominated the world. This may be one of the very first runs of Seiko wristwatches ever made. At this time the watch runs very intermittently. The movement is extremely clean. The watch as a whole is very very very clean for its age and is an extremely collectable piece. Per my evaluation the balance currently needs restaffing. All other parts work as they should. It winds, sets time and trys to run. The balance is slightly wobbly pointing to a needed staff replacement. Please do not bid or make offers if you are expecting a running watch as there will be no refunds. The band and buckle do not look original.
