Description: The Seneca Crystal factory in Morgantown, WV produced some of the world's finest cut crystal until the factory closed in 1983. Their clients included Franklin Roosevelt, Lyndon Johnson, and many other famous individuals. Their crystal was featured in Sak's, Bergdorf Goodman, and other top notch retail shops. The Berkeley pattern dates from the 1930's and represents the epitome of hand cut American crystal. It is an elaborate hand cut pattern with frosted and clear-cut flowers, scrolls, thumb prints, and radiating lines. The stem is bevel cut. It is Seneca Pattern Stem #4805 with Cut #779. Offered here is what the old Seneca catalogs describe as a tall saucer champagne. It is 7 1/4” tall and 4” in diameter at the rim. It is not the more common shorter champagne/sherbet. Except for the bowl shape it is an imposing as the water goblet in this pattern. It is in excellent condition with no cracks, chips, or repairs.
