Engraved by Pierre Tardieu. Uncommon and charming little mid-19th century antique map. Almost primitive looking, engraved with original inexpert outline hand color utterly unique to the era and method of hand production. Noteworthy for the scarcity factor, from a pocket sized atlas which had a small circulation and is therefore rarely encountered as a loose map today. Sheet displays small minor signs of age, light evidence of some handling, printed slightly askew on the sheet and issued thus, but overall still clean and well preserved.
