Description: AYRTON'S PENULTIMATE VICTORY (his 40th) and one of his last for McLaren. Prost in the superior Williams had started on pole with Senna alongside but Senna's favourite event, rain, brought Prost in on the 15th lap and taking advantage of a delayed stop to Prost as he switched to wets, Senna got ahead and stayed ahead for the rest of the race. The race is also famous for an altercation between Eddie Irvine and Senna after the race where Senna is reported to have been furious at Irvine's attempts to unlap himself immediately after being lapped on lap 34. A nice cover with Ayrton and programme although largely in Japanese does have some English in explaining the circuit. Evokes the atmosphere of a Grand Prix in Japan at this time with race girls, etc. The Japanese Grand Prix at Suzuka had been the place of many of Ayrton's great races/championship deciders from winning his first championship at Suzuka in '88 to the controversies of '89 (punted off by Prost, resuming the race and winning but then controversially disqualified) and '90 (the crash with Prost at the first corner second championship) and again clinching his third world championship in '91. 1993 was arguably one of Senna's greatest seasons as he fought back against the superior Williams to record five victories and to push Prost hard for much of the season, finishing runner-up.
