Signed "Stan Stunell Don Sherwood". -Description: This is the original artwork for the 12-5-1983 daily comic strip SERGEANT PRESTON OF THE YUKON by Stan Stunell (1930-2011) and Don Sherwood (1930-2010). Sherwood enjoyed a long career as a comic strip artist, and is best known for his work on the military investigation strip "Dan Flagg" which ran during the 1960s. Sergeant Preston was a short-lived crime/adventure strip which ran from 1982 until 1983 (the era of the continuing adventure strip was pretty much over by then, with a few exceptions). In this daily, Col. Dangerfield and Val are undercover at a meeting of 'The Inner Sanctum of Crime". It appears that Dangerfield was about to be exposed when Val went into a swooning act, giving them the opportunity to exit without suspicion. Nicely rendered daily (of which examples are very rare) by Sherwood. DD Condition: -The art is in excellent overall condition. Minor age/handling wear.
