Description: Seventy x Seven = ? by Glenda Pray Life happens to all of us. Oftentimes we are ill prepared to deal with the brute-force winds of trouble that can leave us wounded and maimed. Being hurt can gouge the very life out of our lives. It is a true saying that "hurt people, hurt people." Humans are daily at risk of hurts being inflicted upon us by parental, sibling, marital, peer, coworker, or church relationships. One of the greatest threats to divine fulfillment and living a fulfilling life is unforgiveness. Its tentacles attach to every area of our lives, choking Gods potential, power, purpose, and promise right out of us. It is an untreated disease in our world and sad to say, so often in the church. Many are our afflictions, but God has promised to deliver us out of them all. He wants to heal our hurts and set us free from unforgiveness. I believe that the door of escape from the things that afflict and cripple our lives is being forgiven and giving forgiveness. If you or someone you know struggles with unforgiveness and bitterness, this book can help. It is a candid conversation, a practical perspective, a challenge for the heart, a refreshing for the soul, and much more. Im sure youve heard the saying, ?time changes things. That may be true in some instances, but when we have un-forgiveness in our hearts, time does not change things, at least not for the better. Forgiveness doesnt just happen. Forgiveness is a decision. Time doesnt change everything, but when we decide to forgive, it can bring about a change, in the process of time. In my personal journey of trying to understand, obey and walk in complete forgiveness, I often had more questions than answers, such as, how can I live out the principles of forgiveness, every day, in my everyday living? How can I exemplify true biblical forgiveness towards those who have trespassed against me? How can I, like Peter asked, continue to forgive time and time again? How can I live as one that is forgiven, and as one who freely forgives others? Not only did I struggle with those questions, and others, I was constantly being bombarded with demands to look, act and sound a certain way. After all, I did say I had forgiven, right? I wanted to move forward, I just didnt know how! Frustrated and exhausted with my own efforts, I decided to inquire of the one who requires that we forgive. And since forgiveness is Gods idea, I believe it is also his desire to provide us with every answer we need to live in obedience to him: If any of you is deficient in wisdom, let him ask of the giving God [Who gives] to everyone liberally and ungrudgingly, without reproaching or faultfinding, and it will be given him. (James 1:5 AMP) Time itself doesnt always change everything, but when we decide to forgive, it will bring about a change in the process of time. That is because we can count on Gods help that is on-time, in-time? every-time we need it.
