The gage blocks are made of fully seasoned alloy tool steel with hardened to 65 RC to provide resistance to wear, abrasion, and rust. The measuring surface of the gage block are ground and micro-lapped to a mirror finished so the gage block can be wringable. The inspection are conducted in an ISO-9001 certified laboratory with a master block set that is traceable to NIST and each block's deviation are recorded on the NIST traceable calibration form.The measuring faces (2 sides) are ground and micro lapped to surface roughness of Ra 0.016 while the non measuring face (4 sides) are maintain at Ra 0.63.
