In the early Seventies, DC decided to revive a character who had once been their biggest rival - Captain Marvel. The original Golden Age character had actually outsold Superman by a considerable margin, but DC won a court battle in the Fifties that consigned the character to legal oblivion. In 1973, DC, which now owned the rights to all of the defunct Fawcett Comics characters, revived Captain Marvel, keeping the retro simple art and light-hearted storylines. The new version, known as "Shazam!," had a decent run for a few years. Here I have Shazam! #6, dated October 1973. It's in fine condition overall - see scans for condition.
