Description: You are purchasing a: Sheila's Wood Figurine Decor GREENMAN HOUSE Cortland, New York This Queen Anne Victorian mansion was built in 1896 by W. J. Greenman, founder of the Cortland Door and Screen Co., who ordered the design from the George Franklin Barber's Cottage Souvenir No. 2 catalog. The unique color scheme was created with the advice of curators at the 1890 House Museum and Center for Victorian Arts in Cortland. The Banta House (ACL 12), which is also a Shelia's Collectible, is based on the same Barber design. This house reflects Barber's feeling that properly crafted ornamentation gives life, expression and dignity to a house.
