Description: A Shelley "Indian Peony Border" 8707 Tulip shape 1.5 pint capacity lidded tea pot & stand. C.1930. Pattern No 8707 Indian Peony Border: Printed in oven blue on glaze and enamelled in coral, green, yellow and blue. Green handle and finial. Green trim. White ground. The back stamp is the 1925-1940 green cartouche mark. The shape of this teapot is the Tulip shape. Dimensions: diameter of base 70mm (2.75 inches) / distance from tip of spout to edge of handle 190mm (7.5 inches) / height (to top of finial) 134mm (5.25 inches) / Holds 1.5 pints of liquid / diameter of teapot stand 146mm (5.75 inches). Condition: Both teapot and teapot stand are in excellent clean condition with no chips, cracks, crazing, rubbing, scratching or any signs of wear or use. All enamelling and paintwork is in perfect order with no fading to the pattern. The teapot and teapot stand have an excellent true sound to them when lightly tapped.
