Description: Show Boat ~ Edna Ferber 1926 Early Edition (published in the same year as the true first Doubleday edition) Hardcover, with dust jacketPublisher - Grosset & Dunlap Condition: A nice clean reading copy, tho the dust jacket has some issues. - Covers are in great condition - beautiful orange cloth with no marks, scrapes etc., tho with a very light shadow down the middle (which probably happened during the printing/binding process, as it appears the dust jacket has never been off this copy). Titles on the front & spine are bright, especially with the raised lettering on the front. Two corners lightly bumped and a small ding to the back cover bottom. Spine top & bottom edges are slightly soft. - Interior of book is very clean. Only flaw is a small spot stain that happened to the top outside block of pages that then left a small spot on the first blank page and the inside front cover. Otherwise no dog-ears, no pen/pencil markings, no highlighting, no stains or funny smell.- Dust Jacket is a bit rough. Despite the almost 100 yr age of this piece, the colors are still very bright on the front & back. The spine section is missing areas at the top & bottom, along with a small tear right thru the authors name. Extreme wear shows along the folds and there are tears to those creases too. It's all kind of fragile but still holding together remarkably well. A mylar jacket would go a long way to preserving it further. From a smoke-free // pet-free home.
