Description: Offered here is a space-flown Thermal Protection System tile fragment dealer lot removed from the Space Shuttle orbiter Endeavour. This tile, the LRSI type, was damaged on mission STS-77 which flew in space between 19-26 May, 1996. The tile was destructively removed on March 11th, 1997 while preparing the ship for flight (STS-88). The tile was destructively removed, causing it to fragment into many pieces. These specimens are a collection of those pieces. Each is a sizable chunk of the tile's inner silica insulation material, enclosed in a labeled gem jar. There are 36 individual specimens mounted in a jeweler's display case. Each piece comes with a business sized information card. Also included are four pages of documentation. These may be reproduced for individual sale or displayed at point of purchase. Each could be sold for easily twice my asking price! The specimen set comes with fourpages of informative documentation. The set will be shipped in a USPS Priority Mail Small Box with ample protection. This is a museum-quality space program collectible! Do not miss this opportunity! USA Sales only. Buyer must be a U.S. Citizen. No export. International orders will be cancelled. Buyer assumes all responsibilities for ITAR compliance. I will not be offering anything like this again. Do not miss this golden opportunity! See my other auctions for other interesting aviation and space related artifacts! Good luck and thanks for looking! Good luck and thanks for looking!
