Description: Two hardcovers on space travel Memoir signed by Canadian astronaut Hadfield This is a collectible pair of hardcover books that focus on Canadian astronauts who have been to outer space, and lived to tell their story. First book is a personally SIGNED copy of Chris Hadfield's 2013 memoir of his NASA caeeer that culminated in his three missions into space. First, he visited the Russian space station Mir. Then he traveled to the International Space Station where he walked in space and helped to install the Canadarm2. Finally, in 2012 he flew aboard Soyuz TMA-07M and joined Expedition 34. His book -- "An Astronaut's Guide to Life on Earth" -- is a hard cover with dust jacket -- both in fine collectible condition. It is hand signed on the title page by the author/astronaut with no other names or inscriptions, making it an ideal gift or collectible. The book is in pristine unread condition with no signs of prior ownership. There are no names or bookplates, no writing or bent pages, and no fingerprints. Binding is tight, hinges are robust, an the textblock is bright and unmarked. The protective dustjacket is also in collectible condition with no tears or folds or other signs of shelf wear. To protect your investment, we have added an archival mylar sleeve that can be easily removed if you wish to inspect the jacket. * * *The second book -- Spacewalkers is an oversize hardcover with printed covers and spine and published in 2014. It was written by CBC host Bob McDonald and is a firsthand account of the first three Canadians who had walked in space. (There have been more since.) In addition to Chris Hadfield, the other two astronauts profiled are Steve MacLean and Dave Williams. The book is in very good condition with scores of color photos of the astronauts in action and the images of Earth they captured from their spacecraft. The book measures 8.2 by 10.2 inches and has 202 unmarked pages. As with the first book, Spacewalking is in nice condition with no signs of prior ownership. There are no names or bookplates, no writing or bent pages, but with a few scratches on the covers. Binding is tight, hinges are robust, an the textblock is bright and unmarked.
