Description: Signed D Nick 73 Painting French Quarter Courtyard Canvas Board Framed 16/20. There is an online article about Richard 'Dick' Nick dating from 1976. He is/was a Jackson Square artist, on the fence. Began painting on the the Square in 1963. He also was a Captain in the New Orleans Fire Department. The painting likely needs cleaning. Signed bottom left 'D Nick 73,' hard to see, see 5th photograph, note photo was brightness enhanced so the signature would show. The size of the art (Morilla Canvas Board) is 16/20 inches. A thick dark wood frame size 21 x 25 inches. Total weight 6lbs. Matted with gilt trim and a black cloth that has a velvet feel. Lots of wear and marks on the frame. Dust on the frame and marks. Lint on the cloth velvet matting. Artwork looks slightly dirty and dark. The flash on my camera makes the art look brighter than it is. Back has a hanging wire, no backing paper but remnants of old backing paper. Lots of texture to the paint, seller is not sure if the paint is acrylic or oil. The art is primarily in red and is dark. There may be some scratches but it is difficult to know what is a scratch or not. A good quality piece of original art. Only seller's opinion that it is a New Orleans French Quarter scene. Bought in Baton Rouge, La July 2019. See photographs for condition and description.
