About the Book:Louis Haneberg (1861-1936) was a son of Lars Hanberg and Sara Margareta Soderblom, born in Hanebro, Gävleborg, Sweden. Louis immigrated in 1888 from Sweden to Boston, Massachusetts, and several years later moved to Helena, Montana. In 1897 he moved to Seattle, Washington and married twice (first to a Miss Green, then to Anna Svensson in 1898. They became converts to The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in 1905 (Louis had heard much about the Church in Sweden), and in late in 1911 moved to Ames, Oregon. Joseph Leonard Haneberg (b.1905), a son, married Idris Luvira Hanberg in 1933 in Portland, Oregon, and settled at Bremerton, Washington. She was a direct descendant of Swedish immigrants from Hanebro who continued to spell the surname Hanberg. Leonard and Idris settled at Bremerton, Washington, and moved in 1942 to nearby Silverdale, Washington. Descendants and relatives lived in Oregon, Washington and elsewhere.
