Used to illustrate the appearance of the adult birds that the colorful feathers come from. Hundreds of photos of each bird's feathers show their various shapes and their incredible colors. Also photos of how the individual feathers are utilized when creating the often elaborate Classic Salmon flies as shown in step-by-step photos and descriptions of the 16 individual fly patterns. This piece features a 16" by 20" black durable MDF wood frame with a 1.8mm glass front to protect the contents. The bevel-cut matting has inside measurements of 11" by 14" which fits the paintings backing illustration board perfectly. The painting itself is rendered directly on another illustration board which measures 9" by 12". Genuine feathers from the bird are glued in place around the matting to compliment the paintings layout and design. Everything is enclosed by a shatter-resistant glass front covering. A name tag of the bird added at the bottom provides the finishing touch. On the back there is an informational plate describing the bird and feathers included within.
