Single Manual Harpsichord, period copy Culliford

Description: English single manual harpsichord specially made copy of a period Culliford harpsichord, circa 1790, made by Johannes Morley of London in the 1990s. It is a true copy of the original. Veneered walnut case, with replicas of period English brassware on the lid and case sides. The spine is not veneered, but has been left plain, as is the case with the original. Two eight-foot choirs, and buff stop, strung in Malcolm Rose wire, wooden jacks which are true replicas of Culliford's originals, with a mixture of bird quill and Delrin plectra. 61 note compass, FF-f''', keyboard of Woolly Mammoth ivory and ebony. This instrument was lawfully imported into the USA from the UK in Late 2022, with no issue regarding the ivory key tops, as restrictions regarding the importation of ivory do not apply to Woolly Mammoth ivory. The instrument has a custom-made heavy cloth cover which is leather lined. The instrument is a splendid showpiece, which has a booming English bass and a bright, singing treble. Unfortunately, the original walnut lid stick is missing, and there is damage on the molding near the bass end of the keyboard. Otherwise, the instrument is in flawless condition and plays very well. The trestle stand can be disassembled into four pieces, for easy transport. If you live outside the local area and need to have the item shipped, I will help you locate a logistics company.
