Description: This is a new, never used Collector's Album that I developed back in the late 1980's. IT IS LICENSED BY THE U.S. FOREST SERVICE License No. 86-0002. I had purchased all the Smokey Bear material from the collection of a U. S. Forest Ranger named Andy Anderson of Bryan College Station, Texas. In the material he had carefully catalogued and began the SBr. numbering system of the stamps issued by the U. S. Forest Service each year since the early 1940's. I completed the numbering system up through the last stamps issued in 1990, SBr. 133 - SBr. 136. 133 - SBr. 136. The U.S. Forest Service poster stamps were issued in fairly large quantities (mintages noted in binder), but relatively few survived and when you do find them, they can usually be purchased fairly reasonably compared to other issues. The binder is a three-ring tan vinyl with Smokey drawn by draftsman and architect Dan Wardlow and approved by the U. S. Forest Service back in 1986. The binder contains 60 pages of heavy card stock perfect for mounting your collection. Stamps to complete the album can be found on eBay if you are patient. I would highly recommend mounting your stamps in the album, and eBay is a pretty good source for buying mounting sleeves. Scott or Showgard 84's are a great one to get a lot of the later blocks of four, but if you don't mind a little bit of hang-over, the 89's will catch a bunch of them. A lot of the earlier horizonal issues the 63 to 65 works well for the blocks. For most of the singles the 44's are a safe bet on the verticals and 36's on the horizontals will cover a lot of them. There are still a lot of odd sizes, but this will get many of your stamps protected, and you can work off that to pick up the odd-balls.
