Description: This is a sobering, one-off, sepia post card sent as Marine Felpostamt(w/ some stains, discoloration(of the front), small creases here and there, and slightly-rounded corners) to a crew member of the Austro-Hungarian warship, S.M.S. Rudolf, Zelenika, present-day Montenegro! It was sent from a fellow sailor serving on the S.M.S. Novara(an somewhat light/faded CDS from the ship), on September 14, 1916! As for the Rudolf, it was an ironclad warship commissioned in 1889. The S.M.S. Novara, was a Novara-class, scout cruiser commissioned in 1915. She was likely operating in and around the Adriatic Sea as a raider of enemy shipping and the Otranto Barrage. Noted imperfections aside, this remains a nifty piece of Imperial Austro-Hungarian Naval postal history!
