Description: SNCC Freedom Singers in Live Concert - Recorded June 2015 Songs of the Movement On June 13 2015 the SNCC Freedom Singers performed at the Town Hall in Ashfield, Massachusetts. This was the first full concert the group has dome in over 14 years. The concert was recorded and this is the CD. On this occasion, six members of the group were present. Charles Neblett and Rutha Harris were both members of the original group started in 1962. They are joined on stage by Emory Harris, Betty Mae Fikes, Marshall Jones and Bill Perlman. All were members of the Freedom Singers and field secretaries of the Student Non-Violent Coordinating Committee (SNCC) during the 1960s. The CD contains 25 of the best examples of freedom songs that the group has done. It was these songs that carried the people in the Civil Rights movement through some of their greatest successes and darkest hours. This was truly a historic concert.
