New York Secretary of State (1915-1920)1923 he was appointed by National Non Theatrical Motion Pictures to screen films. *** Solax Studios was an American film studio co-founded in 1910 by French pioneer filmmaker Alice Guy-Blaché (1873-1968). The studio was destroyed by fire in 1919. Guy-Blaché was the first woman to direct a film. And in 1912, her silent comedy, A Fool and His Money, was probably the first American film with all black cast.
