Description: Chrysocolla Cuprite also known as Sonora Sunset, and sometimes Sonora Sunrise, is named for the lovely and colorful sunsets over the Sonoran Desert, from which it is found. It was found in 2006, in Milpillas Mine, and was difficult to find because it was buried beneath between 100 and 500 meters of Tertiary and Quaternary gravels. It was not exposed at the surface and could only be inferred by geologic mapping and confirmed by exploratory drilling.The deposit has been ‘mined out’, and these beautiful pieces displaying all colors is very rare and sought by collectors.Heart cabochon is 1.375 inches by 1.375 inches
