Description: This piece reproduces the work entitled La caza de Meleagro by Giovanni di Benedetto Bandini modeled between 1583 and 1584, which is preserved in Room 049 of the Museo Nacional del Prado. On the reverse, the Prado Museum Bicentennial logo is reproduced together with an image of the seated statue of Velázquez, modeled by Aniceto Marinas in 1899 and located in front of the Puerta de Velázquez of the Museo Nacional del Prado in Madrid. The Prado Museum opened to the public on November 19, 1819 as the Royal Museum of Painting and Sculpture. 2019 marks the 200th anniversary of this spectacular and well-known museum. To commemorate this event, the FNMT issues a series of six collectible coins in silver and gold called Bicentennial of the Prado Museum. The issue has three circular pieces and three square pieces, in which well-known works from the Prado Museum are reproduced.
