Description: This Spanish American War US 2nd Infantry White Sun - Pith Helmet is a rare collectible item for any militaria enthusiast. The helmet appears to have the original blanco’d finish. No chin strap. Small oval, red and white, label inside says 7 1/8. Another small oval, red and white label, states ‘Patented May 2, 1899. The helmet sports the 2nd Infantry Regiment eagle brass plate. The brass spoke can be removed for packing and will be included with shipping. This helmet could have been used in the Spanish American War, for deployment in Cuba. This hat comes from my late father’s collection of hats, as he enjoyed studying and collecting historical items.
