The reds must REALLY like to chase these!!! 11/24/2019 - One of my good South Louisiana customer friends suggested this pattern for the BIG reds in his local waters a few years ago and they have done VERY well, but yesterday another "RABID" Louisiana redfisher asked me to tie the pattern in "black/purple". Here they are - NEW color for 2020! I tie these saltwater flats crab pattern on the size 1 saltwater hook then epoxy it to a gold spinner blade. Talk about good action in the water - it wobbles, glints and sparkles when striped, then it settles on the bottom hook-up and slightly "flutters". Sorry about the cost but as with all spoon-type redfish flies, they are messy, material-expensive and VERY time-consuming to make. They would be $4.79 in fly shops and $5.29 in Orvis boutiques.... ONE fly included.
