Description: One of the most interesting and well done depictions I have seen the last few years: 3'2" x 3'2" ft hand knotted antique authentic vintage rug in A+ mint excellent condition for the age (early 1900s estimate ) made of fine lamb wool and natural mineral / vegetable dyes with amazing hue variation unmatched by modern techniques. No tear, holes, animal or smoke. Even pile. Double knotted on two foundation layers for durability for generations of use, very finely knotted hundreds per square inch. Unmatched old world dye techniques gives tonal color variations lighter or darker shades of main colors, called 'abrash' by curators and collectors, by way of oxidized organic dyes over the century. Millions of hand tied knots in this piece. See all 14 images. #6402prom6
