Description: SQUEEZE Cosi Fan Tutti Frutti Vinyl LP Original 1985 Pressing Squeeze being a somewhat traditional alt rock band, fans may have expected their guitar oriented sound. Instead, Squeeze created an album that forged guitars and the then new sample based synth rather than organ and piano. Not that piano and organ weren't abundant on this record. They were, but peppered with new and synthesized sounds most likely not expected by Squeezes audience. When one pays attention to the music here it is not unlike their prior work. Most of the songs are intelligently written and catchy. As usual the quality of songwriting is high. Why this album didn't catch on is somewhat a mystery. That said, this is a great time to experience the album, perhaps for the first time. Old fans and new ones wiill find that Cosi Fan Tutti Fruity has stood the test of time and is as good an album as many of their prior classics. The arrangements are lush and extremely well arranged. Everything about this album is mannered without the usual problems found using considerable amounts of synth technology. In its day it was probably too much to expect for its time.
