St Paul’s College website lists 228 original subscribers to St Paul’s in a printed list dated October 1856. This is obviously an earlier preliminary list of 118 (I think) and some of those named as major donors on the web site list are absent. This is obviously an early list, as “The subscribers in this list to whose names an asterisk is prefixed, have paid their subscriptions in full”. Possibly a third? are so marked, indication this was a promissory list, rather than a paid up in full list.
