To enjoy the brilliant colors, turn the scope so that the color is at the top of the glass tube. The scope measures about 9 inches from eye piece to end. The oil tube is 11 inches long. The scope sits about 5 inches high from the bottom of the base. The kaleidoscope is made of a beautiful black textured glass. There are semi-precious stones of agate, turquoise and obsidian on both sides. These stones were purchased at the Tucson, AZ Gem and Mineral show. It is a beautiful scope to display and look through. • This oil kaleidoscope provides a cascade of color. It is often described as being like fireworks. You turn the scope so that the color is at the top of the tube. The colored oil and small metallic pieces flow down through the tube and “burst” in front of the mirrors within the scope. It is just fantastic! The pictures above are actual views through this scope. However, still pictures do not capture the movement effect. The video shows the view of the purple wand with purple oil and metallic moons and stars. There are two additional wand -green and pinkThe scope has a beautiful base. It is made of clear glass with "snow flake" etching. The pictures can't capture the beauty - The inside pictures are not as clear as actually seen because of the motion during photography. Nedra's scopes are now featured in several kaleidoscope stores, in Arizona and in New York. Five of her scopes were recently accepted for the international exposition of the Brewster Kaleidoscope Society and displayed at the Foundry Arts Center in St. Charles Mo.
