Description: This is a scarce Stanley Rule & Level Co. Adjustable Throat Block Plane with patent dates dating to 1876. The blade is 1-5/8 inches wide and very sharp. The body is approximately 6-3/8 inches long and has most of its original black japanning. The base is smooth. There are brass fittings. The plane is as shown in the photos; please review the them for condition details. It was manufactured in the USA. Besides 1876, other patent dates present include 1884, two 1888, and 1897. This vintage Stanley adjustable throat plane is very clean and would be a great addition to a collection and can be used as designed on all your woodworking tasks.
