Author Biography Rowan H Harwood is a Consultant Geriatrician and Professor in geriatric medicine at the University of Nottingham. Particular interests include stroke, delirium, dementia, clinical ethics and end-of-life care. He is Editor-in-Chief of the journal Age and Ageing, and co-chairs the WHO Technical Advisory Group for monitoring the UN Decade of Healthy Ageing. Dr Farhad Huwez (PhD, FRCP, FRCPG) is a Consultant Stroke Physician at Hyperacute Stroke unit of Royal LondonHospital where a large number of Mechanical Thrombectomy procedures are done regularly. Previously he led Stroke Service in Basildon. Initially, he trained in Cardiology and obtained a PhD from GlasgowUniversity. He subsequently completed specialist training in General and Geriatrics Medicine and is visiting Professor ofGeriatrics in New Vision University at Tbilisi Georgia. Dr Paul Guyler is a Consultant in Stroke Medicine and Clinical Director for the East of England Regional Stroke Network. He is Deputy Associate Dean for Undergraduate Education at Southend Hospital and an Honorary Visiting Senior Clinical Lecturer with Anglia Ruskin University. He has also been Principal Investigator in many NIHR trials of stroke research. He has been awarded multiple awards, including two Health Service Journal Awards forDelivering Quality and Value and Service Redesign. Sajid Alam trained at the Barts and London School of Medicine.
