Description: This vintage 1940s 3/4 length mink fur has been unworn and in storage since the 1980s. It is an absolutely stunning piece. This fur was owned by Annie Westmoreland Wilson, wife of the late Pat Wilson. Annie's name is embroidered in the lining. The coat was purchased at Reed's in Tupelo, Mississippi, a historic flagship store that opened in 1905. This fur is truly a piece of history. Annie's husband, Pat Wilson, played football for Auburn University and Mississippi State. He also coached at Tupelo Military Institute, East Central Junior College, and Tupelo High School, when the team won the state football championship in 1922. Pat also served as Mississippi’s Adjutant General from 1947 to 1964, was a much-decorated veteran of both World Wars, earning the Legion of Merit, Bronze Star, Purple Heart, American Defense Service Medal, European African Middle Eastern Campaign Medal with five Battle Stars, Crown of Italy, and the National Guard Distinguished Service Medal. The fur is in excellent condition. The lining is lightly stained and could use a professional cleaning. It has no size listed, but fits sizes small through large.
