Description: Cobbs Knife, 4" x 1 9/16", North Central Alabama, high grade Fort Payne flint. Great well flaked bevels to both sides, good overall polish/use wear, patina and mineralization. Thin, well formed base with good edgework. Tip has very minor re-chipping, there is patina and deposits along the edges and faces all the way to the very tip, looks like just the very end has a couple of flakes removed.Jim Bennett discovered this fact in his evaluation, it was not apparent to me. I have priced it accordingly I believe, without the rechipping this artifact would be worth at least 2-3x my asking price, it is a SUPER example of a Cobbs and no brainer authentic! A fresh Bennett COA included, one of the most respected authenticators in the nation. Guaranteed ancient for life. I am a 25 year plus member of CSAS, GRAS and GIRS archaeological societies. Fast shipping, will combine whenever possible. Any questions or more photos please message. Thanks for looking!
