Superb Antique German Lenzkirch Burr Walnut Bracket Clock

Description: A Superb Antique 1903 Burr Walnut Lenzkirch Bracket clock with Ting-Tang chimes. The clock is in great original, fully working condition. The design is instantly recognisable as Lenskirch at their very best. The burr walnut case has a rich deep patina. All the gilded brass is original and in excellent condition. The dial compliments the case and has extensive gilded brass spandrels surrounding the silvered chapter ring and subsidiary speed adjustment dials. The case has extensive mouldings and gilded brass mounts. The case has two shaped front columns comprising walnut and an array of gilded brass mounts which end with shaped gilded brass feet. The sides of the case each have rectangular and semicircular gilded fretwork sound panels which are backed by red silk. The perforated brass of the rear door has the same red silk backing. The top of the clock is domed with the front portion being extensivly carved with a central 'bump' in the centre. There are four original Lenzkirch finials, one at each corner. The original locks to the front and rear doors work and are operated by key. The large rectangular bevelled glass of the front door accentuates the overall composition of the clock design. The stunning brass Dial has a silvered chapter ring and has a subsidiary dial above for time regulation. The clock hands are blued steel. The dial is extensively decorated with intricate gilded spandrels. The dial is surrounded by a silvered reflector and mounted in the walnut veneered door with bevelled glass. All aspects of the dial and front door are in original and excellent condition. The movement is stamped Lenzkirch 56 and I Million 382379, dating it to 1903. The movement has been cleaned and oiled and springs greased. It is running smoothly. The clock Ting-Tang chimes the quarter, half, and three quarter hour on two gongs and the hours on a single gong. The clock comes with its original pendulum, and original winding key and two lock keys. The winding key has a small 'Bump' to match the case design. Dimensions: Height 39 cmWidth 27cmDepth 20 cm.
