Description: Maker: It's indisputable: Limoges says quality. And T&V - Tressemann and Vogt - produced some of the world's finest and most beautiful Limoges porcelain. This superb shallow rimmed soup bowl features a gorgeous band of gold netting highlighted with delicate hand painted dark pink primroses and green leaves on a vine. Inside the verge is a circle of intricate gold netting and scrollwork around a pure white center. Marks and age: The bowl has a green underglaze "Limoges France" white ware mark. The purple T&V bell mark number 16a dates its decoration to between 1907 and 1919. The mark reads "Décoré par T&V pour Higgins & Seiter New York". It confirms that T&V produced the bowl for Higgins & Seiter, a high-end New York retailer that closed in 1915. Source: The Collector's Encyclopedia of Limoges Porcelain by Mary Frank Gaston, third edition. Condition: The bowl has been well cared for throughout its long life. It is in excellent condition, especially considering its age and fragile material. There are no cracks, chips, nicks, stains, repairs, crazing or wear. Size: The bowl is 9 1/2 inches in diameter and 1 1/2 inches tall. Please check all the photos very carefully - they are an important part of the description.
