Description: Sutured Fossil Ammonite Natural Mineral Polished large, Madagascar, display stand110+ million year old, excellent condition for its age! This is a large and heavy item, and hence fairly rare. Normally the ones available on sale are about 50-60 mmFrom what little research I have done, these seem to originate from Madagascar and are normally over 110 million years old This particular specimen weighs about 2.6 Kg, and approximate dimensions are 240mm long x 190mm wide x 45mm deep It is highly polished all around except for the inner core and the end area. The photos do not really do it justice, and the patterns are quite pronounced, with colours ranging all the way from some creams, chocolatey browns to almost greyish black. What looks like like a couple of cracks (see 3rd photo) in the structure are actually fossilised cracks. The item will be sent in secure packaging and will include a display stand to show off the piece. Collection is cash only, otherwise bank transfers and ebay payments (credit / debit cards).
