PROVENANCE: From the Estate of Elizabeth M. Acton; Gary Wallace, Auctioneer. Artist Biography: Elizabeth McNaughton Acton -Born: April 19, 1914 in Schenectady NY. - Died February 8, 2009 Freedom, NH. She was a graduate of the Brown School, Finch College and studied art under Margaret Patterson at the Dana Hall School. She attended the Vespar George School of Art in Boston. She studied with George Bridgman at The Arts League in New York City. Later she studied watercolor with Herb Olsen, Tom Hill, Robert E. Wood, Tony Van Hasselt and others. In Arizona she studied watercolor and contemporary painting with Douglas Greenbowe, Dick Phillips and Jackie Shultz. She was a former member of the Arizona Watercolor Association and The Mount Washington Valley Art Association. Her later years were spent in Freedom New Hampshire.
